Nowadays there is a rising interest in Organic Latex Mattresses. These mattresses are very popular these days. This is a highly durable mattress, lasting 30 years and in most cases well beyond, still keeping its form. So, no need for flipping or repurchasing for that matter in most cases. Organic latex mattresses are made from actual rubber trees, unlike commercial latex mattresses that use a synthetic rubber or a blend of the two. These mattresses are super dense and thick. Choosing an organic latex mattress has to do with what you prefer in comfort level. These mattresses are springy, bouncy and very supportive. What create this feel are the little holes all over the core called pin core holes. These holes soften the latex making it comfortable for you. The size of the holes determines the softness of the mattress. The larger the hole, the softer your mattress will feel.

What is Natural Latex and where does it come from?

Natural latex mattresses is collected or tapped from actual rubber trees using methods that date back for generations. The 3 primary latex producing countries include Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand and together they produce about 72% of the world's natural rubber. Workers in rubber tree plantations go out in the early morning to harvest the trees natural rubber. They tap each tree in the prescribed manner and collect the latex in small buckets that hang on each tree. Once the rubber is collected it is delivered to a processing plant where it is then turned into latex using one of two processes; the Dunlop process and Talalay Process. Whereas the Dunlop method uses only natural processes and additives the Talalay method uses a synthetically produced petroleum product called vanillin.
